Background

For the past four years, the Colonias Development Council has had a Border Servant Corps Volunteer.  The Border Servant Corp Volunteer works as a full time employee at the Colonias Development Council  in 4 primary areas: Advocacy, Research, Organizing and Economic Development.   This position is flexible in the exact work, finding a balance between the volunteer's skills and interests and the organization's needs.  This is an opportunity to learn and get involved with different projects in the colonias.  The Colonias Development Council is a great place to do a fulltime volunteer program due to a teaching and learning environment.  It provides opportunities to learn about the border area, learn and/or speak Spanish, and contribute to the mission of the Colonias Development Council.

For more information contact the Border Servant Corps Director, Dick Schriver (Due to change) at 575-522-7119 or email: bsc@zianet.com.
